Anyone woman who shares our vision and values can apply! We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, as long as they are over 18 years of age and willing to commit to supporting women in our community.
However, please be aware that for your own wellbeing, if you have been a client of MSH or have experienced domestic abuse first hand, we request that you allow a two year period free from domestic abuse, before offering your time to volunteer for us.

Volunteers help in a variety of ways, from helping with direct support for women to community engagement, fundraising, administrative tasks, and more. We post all volunteering opportunities on our website.

Depending on the role you apply for, it may require a commitment of at least one day a week for 6–12 months. However, we offer a range of volunteer roles, some of which are very flexible and include one-off events or short-term engagements to fit your schedule.

No prior experience is required—just a willingness to help and learn. We provide all necessary training to ensure you feel confident and prepared in your role. If you have specialised skills, we encourage you to let us know how you’d like to contribute.

Yes, all volunteers undergo an induction and training program to understand our trauma-informed approach and ensure you’re equipped to make a positive impact.

Absolutely. Our team is here to guide you every step of the way, with regular check-ins, supervision, and opportunities for feedback. You’ll also be part of a supportive community of like-minded individuals.

Definitely! Volunteering is a great way to build new skills, gain experience, and enhance your CV. Many of our volunteers use their time with us as a stepping stone to further opportunities.

After submitting your application online, we’ll invite you to an informal interview to discuss your interests, availability, and how you’d like to contribute. Once selected, you’ll attend an induction session and begin your training.

Yes! We have roles for varying levels of availability. Whether you can give a few hours or commit to a regular schedule, your time is valued and appreciated.
All we ask is that you can commit to at least six months of volunteering.
This allows us to balance the costs incurred to My Sisters’ House, as well as staffing time onboarding new volunteers.

We understand that circumstances change. If you’re unable to continue volunteering, please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. As there are costs occurred to the charity, as well as staffing time onboarding new volunteers, we politely request that you can commit to at least 6 months of volunteering.
