Moving into February with Power

Elaine Hart

We took a moment to chat with Elaine from Power is Bananas - a long-time supporter of My Sisters’ House and a community powerhouse!

Elaine brings infectious positivity, purpose, and a powerful belief in movement as a tool for connection, mindset, and change. In this short interview, she shares what’s currently fueling her intention within POWER, how movement helps her stay aligned, and some banana-fueled wisdom she’s bringing into this next season for the community.

As we move into February, what intention are you personally bringing into POWER right now—and how does movement help you stay aligned with it?

Elaine: 2026 is all about POWER In Your Pocket - a new line in POWER that will fulfil my mission to get POWER out into the stratosphere for those who need it most. POWER In Your Pocket is the inimitable POWER soundtrack - my words of mental strength, mantras and mindfulness (bananachat) spoken alongside a banging playlist, available when you want to move, connect and shift. January was all about the tech evolution for POWER In Your Pocket, and February is about building a library of recordings. Anything new takes a lot of brain space for me. When I'm not behind a mic or scribbling on a banana, you'll find me in the pool. Swimming is how I 'rinse my brain' and reset - it's pure meditation for me.

POWER began with a bike but grew into something so much bigger. What does “moving with love and respect” look like for you in this season of your life?

Elaine: POWER is all about 'moving with love and respect' - for our minds, our bodies, and each other - you've nailed the POWER spirit! Whilst I believe I was born to ride a bike, and static bikes is where POWER began. Not everyone is able to access a bike or finds joy in riding a bike, like I do, which is why celebrating and supporting all types of movement is how everything that POWER is can reach more people, and the bunch can grow. The POWER 'formula' has never changed: movement, mindset, bananas (and everything they represent - connection, play, vulnerability, creativity, and more. This new season is simply about a different medium, with the development of the digital product, and a focus on 'stepping into our POWER', inspired by the POWER X MSH Bognor 10km campaign.

If February had a POWER banana word for our community, what would it be—and how can we embody that word both on and off the bike (or pavement, track, skates)?

Elaine: That's a great question. FAITH is one I come back to often. In times of fear, faith is act of resistance. Having faith in life's unfolding, the path, humanity, yourself - you'll hear so much faith bananachat when you experience POWER. Fear will tell us everything is falling apart, faith will tell us everything is falling into place. Faith and fear are both invisible we get to choose one. Faith thrives in presence, not performance, so it's really an invitation to move towards faith by getting more present. That moment you notice you're not present, you're present. Notice your hands, your feet, where your breath is, and where your (faith and) POWER lives.
