Introducing our New Patron, Leigh Johnson of Laylaleigh Millinery

We’re excited to introduce the newest member of the My Sisters’ House family—Leigh Johnson, founder of Laylaleigh Millinery—who joins us in the important role of Patron.

But what exactly does being a Patron mean?

At My Sisters’ House, a Patron is more than a figurehead. They are a champion, an advocate, and a connector—someone who amplifies our mission, helps us reach wider audiences, and opens doors to new partnerships and opportunities. Using their voice and experience to support more women across Arun and Chichester.

And that’s exactly why Leigh is the perfect fit.

From Passion Project to Leading Millinery Brand

Leigh launched Laylaleigh Millinery in 2010 from her Sussex home, fuelled by a passion for fashion and a desire to offer something fresh in the world of luxury millinery. After training under one of the UK’s top designers, she began selling her bespoke hats locally—and quickly became the go-to milliner for those who wanted to stand out with style and sophistication.

In the 15 years since, Laylaleigh Millinery has grown from a home studio into an internationally recognised brand. Key milestones include:

  • A destination showroom in Chichester

  • A growing network of UK and European stockists

  • Features in national magazines and award-winning designs showcased at prestigious racecourses like Royal Ascot

Leigh’s hats are known for their bold style, exquisite craftsmanship, and ability to make every wearer feel extraordinary.

Why Leigh Said Yes to My Sisters’ House

Becoming a Patron of My Sisters’ House is deeply meaningful for Leigh. Drawing on her own lived experiences, she is committed to using her platform to:

  • Raise awareness of the vital, trauma-informed services we provide

  • Inspire growth and strengthen the centre’s public profile

  • Champion long-term change for women in crisis or transition

Her passion, creativity, and community spirit align perfectly with our values—and her support comes at a time when the need for accessible, inclusive services for women has never been greater.

Looking Ahead Together

With Leigh’s energy and advocacy behind us, we look forward to:

  • A heightened profile within and beyond West Sussex

  • Stronger community and business connections

  • Greater visibility for our support services, campaigns, and events

We’re proud to welcome Leigh Johnson as our newest Patron and look forward to what we can achieve together.
